Mechanic Blues

If you have an automobile of any kind, then I guarantee that you will have some sort of unexpected break down or problem come your way that will pretty much ruin your day. Today was my day and today I got reminded of how much car problems stink. I had just topped my car off with fuel and I tried to start it but I got nothing. I had a dead car. I had just came from an early morning event, and was headed over a friends house to help her move. So while I was sitting in my car anxiously waiting for the tow truck driver to come and pick me up, I had some time to think. Once I got over my stupid machine thoughts, I started to think clearly and had some positive ones. One especially stood out to me.

My thought was, that we as people in today’s society, our lives are consumed with some many busy actives and work that we hardly ever get time to slow down and really enjoy life. Its always go, go, go and never slow down. Life is short, merely a vapor. We need to just take a few moments everyday, clear our heads and smell the roses.

Just a side note of how great our God is, is that after I finally got my car towed to the shop, I still went over my friends house to help her move and the owner of the mechanic shop that my car was at was there. I met him and he was a great guy that promised he would take rip me off too bad. We shall see.

Trust Issues

Trust as defined as in the dictionary is- a person on whom or thing on which one relies. For me today, I learned that trust can be listed into 2 separate categories. Category A- Longtime trust and Category B- Instant Trust. Today I used Category B and instantly trusted a total stranger that I have never met in my life to be in charge of something that I pretty much could not live without, my laptop. I was at the coffee shop sitting outside just checking email and I had the urge to go inside and grab a coffee. But thinking of the hassle of packing everything up just to go inside for 2 minutes just seemed unreasonable, so I asked the guy sitting a few chairs down to keep an eye on my things for a minute. He said "sure no problem" and I was ok with that. But while I was inside I had second thoughts because how was I to trust this complete stranger to guard my posessions when at any second he could just grap my laptop and disappear, never to be seen again. I'm happy to say that he didn't take anything but he joked about it when I came back.
I totally trusted this stranger with my things but there are some people in life where trust is an issue, even if I have known them forever. If someone takes advantage of you in life it seems so hard to forgive and its scary to trust them with a second chance. I have learned that everyone needs a second chance to redeem themselves and forgiveness is the key to doing that
